Disney+: This is what PlayStation 5 owners have been waiting for
Disney+ can be viewed on the PS5, but there hasn’t been a version specially developed for the console so far. But that could change soon, as a new leak shows. Disney+ content is finally coming to PlayStation 5 in 4K resolution.
Disney +: Native PS5 app probably in the works
It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but Disney is likely to have one for its Disney+ streaming service shortly native app for the PlayStation 5 introduce. At least that’s what screenshots that appeared on Reddit suggest. The previous Disney + app should be replaced by the native version. Subscribers can finally look forward to problem-free playback of 4K content.
With the app that is currently still available, 4K content should actually have been possible since an update in September 2021. Despite complaints from many PS5 customers Disney has not yet responded. The app still cannot fully exploit the strengths of the PS5. Dolby Audio or HDR are not supported by the app developed for the PS4.
Under the Codenames “Vader” should be worked on a new app, which shouldn’t be long in coming (source: the_andshrew at Reddit). Hopefully this irons out a few more errors in the previous app. Users keep reporting audio issues that aren’t noticeable with other apps on the PS5.
