Defeat Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Hands & Phantom Ganon

When you explore the game world of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you will sooner or later be surprised by annoying miasma hands. These enemies are very persistent and, at first glance, quite difficult to defeat. As if that weren’t enough, there is a second phase. In this guide, we explain how you can pick it up with your hands.

Tips for fighting miasma hands

At the start of your adventure, you might want to avoid the Miasma Hands as the loot is underwhelming. At the latest when you want to get the master sword, you have to face the hands. The hands are pretty quick and can grab you. Then you have to free yourself by shaking the stickwhich is a pretty annoying affair overall.

But the big problem with miasma hands is something else: If you beat a few hands but wait too long, the hands will respawn again. So what can you do? There are options:

bomb strategy

You can try to quickly turn off all Miasma hands in a timely manner. The best way to do this is with bomb arrows. The explosion of the bombs ensures that many or even all hands are hit. With a strong bow and some bomb arrows, the miasma hands are no longer a challenge. However, the Thunder Flowers you need for the Bomb Arrows are a valuable commodity. So it’s understandable if you don’t always want to waste your thunder flowers on hands. However, if you have a bow that shoots multiple arrows at once, such as the Leuner Bow, then you really only need a few of them.

ice strategy

The second method aims to prevent defeated hands from returning. You have to freeze a hand just before dying (White Slime Jelly, Ice Fruit or Sapphire) and then subtract the last life points while frozen. This ensures that the hand no longer respawns. Compared to the bomb arrows, the method is much more lengthy and difficult.

Fighting Phantom Ganon

Once you’ve finally defeated the Miasma Hands, you’ll find that it’s only the first phase of Phantom Ganon that appears after that. Like other big enemies, Phantom Ganon is a mini-boss. The miasma hands therefore do not appear randomly in the game world, but can be found in certain places.

Phantom Ganon can come in three varieties. He wields either a sword, a two-handed sword, or a spear. If you move too far away from him, he will also pull out his bow and shoot you down. The best way to meet Phantom Ganon is in a classic duel. He only has a few attacks per weapon, which you can easily dodge after a little practice. After a few perfect counters, the mini boss is done.

As already mentioned, the yield is not that great. Phantom Ganon’s weapons, while powerful, have a miasma effect that drains your life in combat. At least that’s not the case with the Demon King’s bow. The bow is not good at the beginning, but later it can become a powerful weapon, because the attack power depends on the number of lives you have (+2 attack per heart).
