Customers pay up to EUR 9.99 more per month
Now Sky is getting even more expensive: Existing customers whose contract is about to expire should pay up to EUR 9.99 more per month. But there is no more content to see. New customers are initially excluded from the price increase.
Between 1 and 9.99 euros: Sky is becoming more expensive
Many Sky customers have already been informed by letter, with others the announcement is still pending. Sky will become more expensive for existing customers when their initial one-year contract expires. The price increase depends on the options booked. While Sky only wants 1 euro more per month from some customers in the worst case, 9.99 euros more due per month.
When asked, Sky does not explain in detail how the prices for package combinations will change for existing customers. However, customers will be informed “in good time and transparently” about the price adjustments they can expect for their individual package. It shouldn’t be more than 9.99 euros per month. According to Sky, 5 percent of customers are affected. On average, an increase of less than 5 euros per month can be expected.
Sky states that they are trying to “keep prices as low as possible” while offering an attractive and flexible program. According to a spokesman for the company, we know that “price increases are never welcome”. The higher prices will only after the minimum contract period has expired to grab. Customers then have the advantage of being able to cancel monthly – which is required by law anyway.
More than just Sky: The big streaming comparison.
Sky: No higher prices for new customers
According to Sky, the prices for new customers will initially not be adjusted upwards. Current offers are therefore still valid at the old prices. However, if you opt for one of the usual annual contracts, you have to after expiry of the term also expect higher subscription prices (source: DWDL.de).
