Although Crunchyroll is comparable to streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+, it serves a very clear niche: anime and manga fans. In addition to the app for Android mobile devices and iPhone, you can also watch Crunchyroll content on the big TV. Here is an overview of which devices are supported by the anime streaming service.

Smart TVs
The simplest solution would of course be a smart TV that offers Crunchyroll. Unfortunately, the Crunchyroll app is currently only available on devices with Google’s operating system “AndroidTV”.
Many large manufacturers such as Sony, Philips, Panasonic now offer televisions with Android TV or have switched to it completely. But others like Samsung are still sticking to their own operating system.
If you use a smart TV with your own OS, you currently have to switch to one of the other options to see Crunchyroll on the big screen.
Streaming Players & Set Top Boxes
If you don’t have a TV with Android TV, streaming sticks and set-top boxes are the cheapest and most economical alternative to bring Crunchyroll to the TV. You can find the Crunchyroll app on the following streaming player or you can transfer the service to the TV using the cast function:

For many, the games console is now also the media center in the living room. And so the Crunchyroll app is also available for the current consoles from Sony, Microsoft and even Nintendo. The following consoles offer an anime service app:

Browser & Windows App
If you have a living room PC or occasionally connect your laptop to the TV via an HDMI cable, you can of course simply watch Crunchyroll via the browser on the TV.
Alternatively, under Windows there is also the option of downloading a standalone Crunchyroll app from the “Microsoft Store” for the PC.
