Craftsmanship: more than 1250 hours for this Porsche 911 scale model
At the request of Porsche, a real craftsman has built a Porsche 911 scale model.
No factory, no known brand. No, a man and his tools personally assembled this Porsche 911 in a scale of 1:5. A special story. Elmar Roßmayer, a man in his 80s, was requested by Porsche to build this scale model.
The detailed Porsche 911 Targa has been given a place in the museum of the German car brand in Zuffenhausen. The scale model is part of the 50 Years of Porsche Design exhibition.
It was a tough challenge for the man to make this piece of art succeed. A detailed exterior, interior and matching Fuchs rims. Everything has been thought of.
The car was made at a time when machines and modern detailed scale models were not common at all. This Porsche 911 scale model is 54 years old!

Porsche itself paid Roßmayer for his job. The artist sent an invoice with 1,257.75 hours declared. On an annual basis, that means a working week of 24 hours. And that for one scale model.
A striking piece of history for the German car manufacturer. None other than Ferdinand Alexander Porsche had even taken a picture with the 911 scale model in the past. It is right that this has been given a place in the exhibition in the Porsche museum.
