Copyright tool collapses: Twitter users can upload complete films
According to this, individual users would have had the opportunity, among other things, to upload complete films. For example, a user uploaded the full-length movie The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The company’s copyright tool apparently did not work as usual.
Because normally the system removes media content such as films that are protected by copyright. However, the Universal film, uploaded in 50 two-minute segments, stayed online for almost a full day. Twitter only blocked the user on Sunday, November 20, 2022 – apparently manually.
Twitter employees apparently have to manually delete tweets
Noisy forbes meanwhile the problem seems to persist. Even if the user was blocked, retweets of the post should still be in circulation. In addition, other users could have uploaded protected content.
For example, another user uploaded the 1995 film Hackers in two-minute clips. The same applies to an episode of the animated series Spongebob.
Problems after mass layoffs
The problems seem to be directly related to the wave of layoffs at Twitter. Elon Musk previously caused additional chaos with the integration of the verification function into the Twitter Blue subscription. Because a number of users took advantage of the new offer to issue ade accounts.
It even went so far that share prices could be manipulated by individual accounts. Numerous users are also complaining about an increase in fake news and spam messages. As with the copyright tool, following Elon Musk’s layoffs, the company appears to be lacking the necessary staff.
