Closure of the Bethesda launcher: migration to Steam begins on April 27
Bethesda has already announced the closure of its launcher on PC and the group reveals now the date of the migration to Steam: it will be April 27, 2022. PC players are therefore warned.
A date for the transition of the Bethesda launcher to Steam
This abandonment of the Bethesda launcher will be good news for players since they will be able to focus on Steam. No need to have a separate space for publisher games anymore, everyone is migrating to Steam. Here is what Bethesda says:
From [du 27 avril]Fallout 76 players will still be able to access the game through the Bethesda launcher for a while, but you will no longer be able to perform any transactions for real money, such as buying Atoms or renewing your Fallout 1st subscription.
Starting May 11, you will no longer be able to log in or play Fallout 76 through the Bethesda Launcher, and you will need to complete your account migration in order to continue your adventures in Appalachia on Steam. We encourage all players using the Bethesda Launcher to transition as soon as possible to avoid any service disruptions when the Fallout 76 login and authentication servers go down in May. This process will only take a few minutes of your time, and we’ve developed a tool that will make the transition as smooth as possible. We’ll provide you with a link to the migration tool when it opens on April 27, and you can follow the instructions to begin the migration process. In most cases, player accounts will be available on Steam within minutes of using the tool. In case of heavy traffic, it may take a little longer.
As Bethesda indicates, players with its launcher are encouraged to do what is necessary to continue playing without any problems.
