Chromecast with Google TV is receiving an update. Improves image and security
Google Chromecast with Google TV is one of the best devices with Google/Android TV and now gets a new update. In addition to the new December security patches, it also brings a fix for some 4K televisions.

The update is referred to as QTS2.200918.033 and has a size of 78.2 MB. We are used to the fact that Google does not publish any official list of changes and fixes, and this is not the case with this update. Fortunately, a few users have shared what works better for them, so at least we know something. So we got security patches of December 2020 (formerly September 2020), which may seem like a relatively outdated update, but by the proportions of Android TV, it’s more of a success.
According to some users, 4K mode now works better. New Chromecast of course supports this resolution natively, but some TVs have a problem with it and do not display it properly. In worse cases, Chromecast doesn’t even recognize that it’s a 4K TV and will only offer Full HD resolution.
