Chrome on Android 12 supports multiple tabs at once
Google Chrome on Android 12 gets a nice upgrade, you can open multiple tabs at once with it.
Read an article and keep a Twitter feed at the same time. It’s just one example of what will be possible with Android 12 on Chrome. The latest version of Android allows you to use multiple tabs at once, just like on the computer.
Now it is already possible to open tabs on your smartphone. However, you can only use one tab. So not next to each other. That will change with Chrome on Android 12. The novelty was discovered by XDA Developers. You could use up to five tabs side by side at the same time.
Android 12 tabs
In view of foldable smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, this is a top development. Because with a huge screen it is nice that you can use everything as much as possible. Moreover, you have no shortage of computing power and memory. Some modern smartphones have more memory than an average laptop.
How this will ultimately play out in practice remains to be seen. For example, it is still unclear how well this works if, for example, you have a video open with one tab and a news article or live blog on the other tab.
Android 12 will be released this fall. The rollout is traditionally first on Google smartphones. Other brands will follow later.
