Chinese TousAntiCovid hijacked to quell protests
It all starts in April 2022 with small savers in Henan province who can no longer recover their savings. The power investigates, but the case stalls: it would be a story involving local criminals, 4 different banks, a shareholder on the run, but several weeks after the start of the problem, nothing is settled. Anger mounts and the plaintiffs decide to go to the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to demand accountability from the parent company. The CCP likes order and between June and July, demonstrators were suppressed hard. But what particularly displeased the Chinese was the use of the health pass to stigmatize the demonstrators. Some were surprised to see the TousAntiCovid local go from green to red while they were there or in transport (train, plane, bus, etc.). Surprising when you know that you have to do a test before leaving almost any destination.

Isolations for political purposes
Of course, this red code, synonymous with proven or potential contamination, means that you cannot travel or circulate and that it is imperative to isolate yourself. And a protester who cannot demonstrate, admit that it is very practical. After all, that’s kind of how we silenced the yellow vests, remember? The case caused so much noise that it was impossible for the censors to silence the witnesses on social networks. Even the state media had to talk about it! The Chinese, who have agreed to let themselves be locked up and to undergo draconian restrictions because of the Covid, realize that this surveillance can be used for purposes other than health reasons. The CCP can therefore very well trigger a red flag remotely and put a healthy person in solitary confinement for political purposes (as can be seen in the video below).
But how can they know who is manifesting and who has decided to move for this purpose? Answer: the bigdata. By cross-checking various geolocation information, data from social networks or private databases (transport, banks, etc.), the Chinese government is therefore able to target recalcitrants. Not very good for them social credit so…
