Chief of War, a future Apple TV+ series with Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa is once again signing with Apple TV+ for a future series called Chief of War. The details about him are more than light so far.
New Apple TV+ series for Jason Momoa
The series follows the history of Hawaii’s unification and settlement from the perspective of Native people. Apple has ordered the series eight episodes, reports Deadline. But there is no more information. The cast is, for example, unknown, as is the release date on Apple TV+.
Jason Momoa is handling the screenplay with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett at his side. Both will also serve as executive producers, as will Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg and Doug Jung. The latter is also expected to be the showrunner. Justin Chon is in negotiations to direct the first two episodes. Endeavor Content and Chernin Entertainment will be the producing companies.
This will also be Jason Momoa’s first time writing for television. He previously co-wrote, directed and starred in the film Road to Palomawhich was released in 2014. He also co-wrote with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett the story for the upcoming feature The Last Manhunt, in which Jason Momoa appears on screen in a supporting role. The actor also starred in the feature film Brave in 2018, which was co-written by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.
Chief of War will therefore be the second Apple TV+ series with Jason Momoa. The actor previously starred in See. This series deals with a post-apocalyptic future in which almost all remaining humans have lost their sense of sight. The program aired its second season in 2021 and has already been renewed for a third.
