Change subscription (PC & smartphone)

Netflix gives you access to thousands of films and series in the stream. After the free trial month, you have to choose a subscription package. You can change the Netflix subscription at any time if you want to book a different package.

The Netflix packages determine how many people can use your account at the same time and differ in the price and quality in which the films, series and shows are streamed. If you want to test your 4K TV, you can upgrade to a premium subscription at any time. But also the other way around, for example, you can switch down to the basic subscription if you want to reduce the monthly costs a little.

How to change your subscription to Netflix (PC & smartphone)

1. Opens the Netflix page in one new tab of your browser and log inif not done automatically.
2. Now navigate with the Mouse on your profile picture (PC) or taps on the Menu symbol ≡ (smartphone).
3. Select the option in the menu “Account” out.
   

   

4. Here you can find the “Subscription details” menu item the “Change subscription” link, click on it.
   

   

5. Select from the overview desired subscription model with which you want to use Netflix in the future.
6. On the “Next” button your selection will be accepted.

You can choose between the three subscriptions “Basic”, “Standard” and “Premium” choose. There is no special family subscription or student discount on Netflix. The three subscriptions do not differ in the scope of the content offered, but only in terms of image quality and the devices that can be used simultaneously. The Netflix subscriptions at a glance:

Netflix: change subscription – when is it valid?

From when the change is valid depends on the type of change. With a so-called subscription downgrade – you switch from a more expensive to a cheaper package – the functions of the higher subscription are retained until the next billing. With a subscription upgrade, i.e. when you switch to a more expensive package, the advantages can be used immediately.
