CES 2023: Adam, the big robot who knows how to prepare a little tea
He is as big as his preparation is small: Adam the robot really looks like an android straight out of a SF novel, but this imposing machine decked out with big industrial arms is indeed available for sale… for professionals. Adam is indeed a robot…a tea maker, a task he accomplishes by mimicking human movements. Once the tea is prepared, Adam hands over to Matradee L, another robot whose mission is to serve tea to customers of the restaurant/bar. Guaranteed effect of course, but one can still wonder if there is not a certain contradiction in manufacturing such massive robots for such a minimal result, without even mentioning the problem of jobs (human this time) thus deleted.
The beverage industry has just welcomed Adam, an American robot capable of preparing tea by imitating human movements.
A robot buddy of his, Matradee L, will serve it to you in person, with formidable precision.#THOSE #CES2023 #Robotics CC @RichtechRobots. pic.twitter.com/zuxMeNBlS1

These considerations are obviously not an obstacle to the commercial success of the project: the Texas company Richtech Robotics affirms that his robot has already found takers in the United States and Canada, and would not be opposed to an internationalization of its sales. Finally, remember that Adam is not the first robot to work in the catering sector, like the Knext barista robot, the Bellabot waiter robot, or even Plato, another waiter robot developed by the startup French Aldebaran.
