CES 2022 will end a day earlier due to Covid-19
CES 2022 will indeed take place, but it will end a day earlier because of the Covid-19, announce the organizers of the high-tech show. This year’s edition will take place from January 5 to 7, and no longer from 5 to 8 as was originally planned.
One day less for CES 2022
“This decision was taken as an additional security measure to the health protocols already in place for the CES”, such as vaccination or wearing a compulsory mask, indicated CTA, the association organizing the event in a press release.
Several large and small companies, from Amazon to General Motors, via Microsoft, Intel and many start-ups, have in recent days canceled or significantly reduced their physical presence at CES 2022 as Covid-19 infections linked to the variant Omicron are leaping all over the world. But at the same time, 143 companies have signed up in the last two weeks to participate in CES and more than 2,200 exhibitors will be present at the event, ensures the organization. The stands are being installed.
“As the world’s most influential tech event, CES is committed to being the place to come together to showcase products and discuss ideas to improve our lives.”, explained the boss of the organization, Gary Shapiro.
In 2020, for the last edition before the global spread of the pandemic, the CES hosted around 170,000 people and more than 4,500 exhibitors.
