Car rental from Sixt: Possible online or in the branch
As with the Sixt van rental, you first enter when and where you want to rent the car on the website. If you are on your smartphone, the app will ask you to register and enter your data. In the browser, on the other hand, you can go directly to search for available vehicles. As soon as you have decided on a rental station nearby, you can display the prices for the rental period. For a short time, i.e. up to 4 days, you pay a daily rate, up to the 27th day the weekly rate and for all longer rental periods the long-term rental from Sixt applies. As a rule, the costs per day decrease as the rental period increases.

If you decide on a station at a train station or an airport, there may be another one location fee towards you. Also keep in mind that you will have to pay a fee if you do not return the vehicle to the original station.
Sixt: This is how car sharing works

First you set up your account, enter payment details and verify your driver’s license and your identity. To do this, you have to scan your driver’s license and ID card using your smartphone camera and take a selfie video. Finally, enter your payment details. The registration takes less than 5 minutes in the self-test, then you can start right away.
About the car sharing itself: Once you have registered in the app, select “shares” out. Select a car on the map for more information on the (per minute) price, tank status and horsepower. You can also find out the emissions, the number of doors and seats, the color and whether the car is manual or automatic here. An Opel Astra, for example, costs 24 cents per minute. The price varies depending on the time, place and model selected. If you have decided on a car, you can reserve it for 15 minutes free of charge. For a fee you can extend the reservation by 12 hours. When you get to the car, you can start the rental with the app – the key is in the glove compartment.

By the way, unlike car rental, you can use Sixt cars within the entire business area or return it to a Sixt branch in the same country by ending the journey in the app. The former is shown on the map with a red border.
Unless you have decided on a tariff before you drive, you can drive vehicles with combustion engines 200 kilometers and 50 kilometers for electric vehicles. Each additional kilometer costs another 34 cents.
