Bosch with new eBike ABS for pedelecs

Pedelecs have become an integral part of our everyday lives. The sales figures are increasing, but so are the accidents. Bosch has been developing ABS systems for a wide variety of vehicles for many years. With this knowledge and extensive experience, the company now has presented a new eBike ABS. Instead of simply offering one system for all areas of application, Bosch has developed different versions:

  • ABS Cargo is specially designed for cargo bikes that have to transport large loads and still require a high braking effect.
  • ABS touring is intended for typical city and trekking bikes that have to cope with a wide variety of surfaces.
  • ABS Allroad is also intended for easy terrain. Simple mountain bikes but also the new gravel bikes could benefit here.
  • ABS trail is then for really hard and loose terrain with steep descents and secluded corners where you have to react quickly.

The eBike ABS from Bosch switches on automatically as soon as you start pedaling. While driving, the system regulates the braking pressure of the front brake. With an e-bike with an ABS system, you no longer have to worry about the front wheel locking up and you falling as a result. Farther the new system prevents the rear wheel from lifting off under heavy braking and you roll over. This is one of the great dangers since hydraulic disc brakes have been installed in bicycles. Often the full braking power is not used properly because of the fear of falling.
