BlackBerry: Support for their applications will end this year
You may have noticed that the BlackBerry brand is a thing of the past when it comes to making smartphones (not only) with the Android operating system. In addition, however, the company has developed several applications that can still be downloaded through the Play Store. Well, the Phone Arena web portal reports that even these apps will definitely leave us forever. And already during this year.
Support for BlackBerry applications will end this year
Despite the fact that the company did not officially announce this, the same CrackBerry user found out that support for applications developed by the company will end on August 31 this year. These include applications such as Password Keeper, DTEK (a popular productivity application), their own keyboard application, or Privacy Shade.
As you can see, BlackBerry not only said goodbye to us with its physical products in the Android world, but is also slowly leaving in terms of software. The manufacturer sold its mobile division to the Chinese company TCL and announced the official end of production of its smartphones. Therefore, the functionality of devices with their own system may be limited. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) software lost support as early as 2019, along with Power Center, Productivity Tab, Device Search, BlackBerry Blend, and other titles.
Competition has ended with some products and services
In conclusion, we will mention that the BlackBerry is not the only known company that has stopped making Android phones. The end of the LG brand in this area is definitely worth mentioning. For example, Samsung has canceled its Tizen Store and there is a lot of discussion about the Samsung Galaxy Note trademark. What has been your experience with this brand’s mobile phones?
