Black Bird: the cast and the showrunner of the series pay tribute to Ray Liotta
The thriller series black bird will arrive on Apple TV+ on July 8. One of the actors in the series is none other than the American actor Ray Liotta, who died just weeks after filming wrapped. This sudden disappearance deeply affected the cast and the creators of the series, who paid tribute to the great Liotta on the sidelines of the preview of Blackbird organized by Apple.
The screenwriter and showrunner Dennis Lehane has thus confessed to having written the sequences in which Liotta plays with the actor in mind: “I wrote these sequences for him, it was my dream to work with him”. “It was as good as advertised” continues Lehane,“He fulfilled all the objectives, and he never gave the same interpretation twice. He was a complete and passionate professional.”. And to conclude sadly: “When he died, it was hard, because our last conversation three weeks earlier was about what we would do next”.
Greg Kinnearone of the series’ main actors, praises “a wonderful actor and a wonderful person”. “I sincerely think he is extraordinary (in his role, editor’s note), in a way that will knock people out” continues the actor.
As a reminder, Black Bird”, is based on the true story of a young man sentenced to 10 years in prison. Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton) has the option of drastically reducing his sentence if he befriends suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser) in order to advance the investigation.
