Best Android apps in the Google Play Store week 52

In ‘best apps’ we always discuss a bevy of cool apps that can help you. This time we dive into apps that help you remember to do certain tasks. Ideal for work or school, but also, for example, to keep track of your good intentions.

Walk Habit Tracker

One of the best-known apps to track your habits is Loop Habit Tracker. The people behind this app completely understand: as humanity we really enjoy being able to put check marks behind tasks that we have performed. That can be any task you want: vacuuming once a week, walking a minimum number of kilometers daily, sleeping for more than six hours: you name it. Certainly with good intentions in front of the door, this is a good stick to put behind that door again. And a very positive one, because with every tick you are probably happier with yourself. #doing well

Keeping track of the good habits you learn yourself is nice if you can also tick it when it’s done. Loop Habit Tracker helps with that. ..

Daylio

Daylio is a way to keep track of not so much your tasks and new behavior, but your life in general. The app can provide a complete overview of how well you were doing during that period with dating, exercising, watching movies, cleaning, shopping, your family, and so on. Although it seems a bit strange to divide your life into silos in this way, it is certainly very effective for people who seek more balance in all those facets to get started with Daylio. At the same time, Daylio is less positive than Loop Habit Tracker, because you check off what you do do and in Daylio you also see what you have not done. On the other hand, some people need that to get where they want to be.

Habit Goal Tracker

This app has a somewhat strange name, but it is very effective. You can keep track of your daily stats of what you’re doing and it’s very easy to add or remove a new goal yourself. After all, you can of course also use these kinds of apps to get rid of a bad habit. With colored dots you can see exactly whether you have indeed done it every day that week (if that is the intention) and so you can quickly see what is easy for you and what you might need to pay more attention to.

Habatica

Actually, you can forget about all the above apps, because Habatica is by far our favorite. How come? There’s some kind of game system behind it. It’s like playing an RPG in which you earn more and more points for tasks that you determine yourself. At first it feels a bit weird, but once you’ve found your rhythm you’ll notice that you’ve actually developed your own game. You can adjust your avatar as you score more points and of course you only score those points in one way: by being able to tick that you have tackled something.

We recommend that you start small in this app and continue to expand, which is a good idea if you want to teach yourself good new behaviors in the long term. In any case, gaming is always a good motivation and they have completely understood that at Habatica. To be fair, it can be a bit messy at times, but the app has gotten a lot better than it was a few years ago.
