Best Android apps in the Google Play Store week 25

Every Monday in the ‘Best Android apps’ section, we discuss a selection of cool apps with a high score in the Google Play Store. This time we discuss, among other things, a fun way to video chat and a moment of peace.

Meditation Moments

According to the Play Store, Meditation Moments is doing very well at the moment: apparently, despite the warm weather, many people still need a moment of meditation to clear their heads, to come to themselves and to leave the daily stress behind. The fact that Meditation Moments is so popular is probably also due to the fact that this app is in Dutch. You wouldn’t expect that when you read the name, but this app is one of the few meditation apps that offers explanations in our own language and that makes it a bit more soothing than when you always have to make that translation in your head.

Azar

Azar is a way to meet new friends and you do it in a Chat Roulette-like way. You can join video chats and if you don’t like it, just swipe on. For example, you can choose people of a certain gender or who come from your own region. You can show what your interests are to hopefully find like-minded people sooner, but you can also add friends yourself and send them messages for a new chat session or just to chat without video. With hashtags you can also better show people with whom you video chat what you stand for. While this app isn’t necessarily made for sex chat, it’s for 18 plus because you can obviously run into someone who does have those kinds of plans.

Skin Vision

Do you have a spot on your skin that you don’t quite trust? You could put it in SkinVision. For example, in this app you can keep track of how the stain is developing and you can have your photos checked by the algorithm behind the app for a small contribution. This way you quickly learn whether you have an increased risk and what you should do. The algorithm can assess your photo within 30 seconds, although it is of course still wise to consult a medical professional. However, according to an independent study by Erasmus MC, the algorithm is no less than 95 percent correct when it comes to recognizing skin cancer, and it is very important to catch it early with this form of cancer. Good to know: you can use SkinVision for free with health insurance policies such as CZ, OHRA or Just.

My DHL

PostNL has already pretty much declared a state of emergency because people are so fanatically shopping with their holiday money that the sorters and deliverers can’t keep up, but a company that undoubtedly also has its challenges is My DHL. The app of this parcel deliverer is probably so popular because you can keep track of the status of your parcel, but you can also make another appointment or look for a DHL point if you want to send something (return). My DHL is currently a very popular app and in any case it is a handy app to have, although you can often go a long way with the mail with track and trace and the DHL website.
