Battery widget for Pixels now shows how long your phone lasts

The battery widget of the Google Pixel smartphones has been updated. From now on, in addition to seeing the percentage of your phone and other paired devices, you can also see approximately how long your smartphone will last.

The Pixel devices always run on a clean version of Android. This is Android as Google invented it. This is not surprising, because Google itself is the maker of the Android operating system. So you don’t have to expect bloatware, pre-installed third-party apps or striking adjustments with Pixel smartphones, among other things.

However, Google always gives its Pixel smartphones a number of useful unique functions, one of which is the battery widget. In this widget, you can see at a glance how much capacity is left in your Pixel and paired Bluetooth devices. This gives a nice overview, as you can see below on editor Sebastien’s Pixel 6 Pro. You can also resize the widget to your liking.

Time indication for remaining battery life

In a new update, version ‘v1.1.0.476812811.sr’, Google adds support for displaying time remaining. This time is an indication of how long your Pixel smartphone will last, 9to5Google reports. This indication currently only works for your Pixel smartphone, not yet for the paired devices. Whether this will come later is not yet known. The new function has not yet appeared on the Pixel smartphones of our editors, we expect that Google will spread the function soon.

By the way, you can find the widget under the name ‘Settings Assistant’. You can find this as follows: long press the screen, select ‘widgets’, go to ‘Settings assistant’ and select the widget here. Then tap and hold to place the widget anywhere.
