Home office: FritzOS 7.25 allows prioritization
AVM cannot ignore the home office trend either. Corresponding notebooks or computers can now be prioritized even more easily in the WLAN, for example when a video conference is pending. The function offers AVM now also in the mesh overview of the Fritzbox directly for the network device. In addition, FritzOS 7.25 should also bring many improvements for the WiFi mesh. Optimizing the auto channel selection in the WLAN should ensure that streaming, gaming or homeschooling runs reliably on many mobile devices.
In times of homeschooling and home office, the FritzOS update also offers parents more control over web content and online times: the management of child safety tickets has been optimized. AVM has also tweaked the management of telephony and the transmission quality of calls to wireless remote sites with poor wireless connections. In order to be able to better separate private from professional, the telephone book management should have been revised. This enables entries to be copied and moved between different telephone books.
Also interesting in the area of telephony: The Fritzbox LTE models can now also send and receive SMS. They are also listed in the new SMS journal. Support for the Companyflex (Deutsche Telekom) business telephony platform is also new. And: With the wireless pushbutton Fritzdect 440, WLAN guest access and the answering machine of the Fritzbox can now be switched on and off more easily. In addition, the internal memory of the Fritzbox (around 350 megabytes) now offers the option of saving pictures, ring tones or voice messages.
Update FritzOS 7.25 will be rolled out step by step
The FritzOS 7.25 update is initially available for the Fritzbox 7590. All other products should receive the free update in the coming weeks. AVM speaks of a “gradual roll-out”. The update is installed automatically if the user has selected the corresponding function (auto update). Otherwise, it is sufficient to click on “Start update” on the Fritz.Box user interface.
