Rumor: Apple Watch Series 7 gets bigger screen
Usually well-informed Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has information about the upcoming Apple smartwatch. According to him, the Apple Watch Series 7 will have much thinner screen edges, also known as bezels.
The advantage of this is that the screen becomes proportionally larger, without the housing growing with it. The fewer bezels, the more screen surface is actually used.
Speaking of that screen. According to the Bloomberg journalist, Apple uses a new type of glass that makes the housing slightly thicker. However, the difference with the Apple Watch Series 6 would not be very big.
Gurman also writes that the next Apple Watch may get a sensor that measures your body temperature. The insider doesn’t know for sure, because Apple might postpone the feature to next year.
Gurman is a lot more confident about the processor. He does not mention any specifications, but does say that the hardware of the Apple Watch 7 will be “a lot” more powerful.
‘Ultra Wideband, but no glucose meter for Apple Watch Series 7’
Also new: the addition of Ultra Wideband. The journalist writes that the next Apple Watch will have this very precise location technology. Ultra Wideband, for example, is also included in the recently released AirTag and ensures that you can find lost devices with a precision of a few centimeters.
There are also setbacks. Gurman says he is sure that the Apple Watch Series 7 will not get a glucose meter. For a long time, it was rumored that the next Apple watch would have a special meter to measure your sugar level. This would especially be a godsend for diabetics, because they no longer have to puncture.
