Apple wants to replace the “Hey Siri” command with just “Siri”
Apple wants to simplify voice control with the assistant Siri. According to Mark Gurman of Bloombergthe Cupertino company has been working for several months on a modification of ” Say Siri “the command that launches access to Siri, by just “Siri”. This update would be ready for next year or for 2024, knowing that this small change of grip would involve quite heavy modifications. In addition to the AI must not be mistaken on the intention (Siri is already launching impromptu because of “false positives”) Apple will have to manage a multitude of accents and dialects to avoid exploding the rate of errors.
Beyond the simplification of the Siri activation command, Apple would also work on better integration of Siri with third-party applications and certain services. The room for improvement remains enormous, even if Siri has a somewhat trolling reputation compared to other assistants (exhaustive and objective comparisons show that the gap is not so great with Google Assistant and that Siri often even does better than Alexa).
