Apple unveils Platoon for Artists app for iPhone and iPad
Apple offers a new iPhone and iPad application on the App Store, it is Platoon for Artists. It is intended to be free, but does not target everyone. As the name suggests, it will mainly interest artists.
In 2018, Apple acquired a music industry startup called Platoon. It had been co-founded by a former iTunes executive. Four years later, Apple offers the Platoon for Artists application on the App Store. “Managing your career as an artist has never been easier. Platoon for Artists is your home for managing content, streams, revenue and more »indicates the description.
It turns out that the app is not listed on the App Store. Just looking for his name doesn’t turn up anything. On the other hand, it is possible to download it via the direct link. Apple isn’t saying if this will stay as is or if the app will ever be listed like all the others.
Once you download and open it, you are asked to sign in with an Apple or Google account. You have to be an existing Platoon user to do this, however, and if you try to log in without being one, you’ll be told that the app is currently invite-only.
