Apple stops selling space gray Mac accessories
If you still want a dark Magic Mouse, Keyboard or Trackpad, hurry up. Apple will stop selling space gray Mac accessories.
Read on after the ad.
Space Gray Mac accessories will no longer be available for sale
The Magic KeyBoard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse will soon only be available in silver. Apple stops selling space gray Mac accessories. On the American website of the company, these products are accompanied by the message ‘While stocks last’. This means that no new models are made anymore. In the Netherlands, too, the accessories will most likely disappear quickly.
That is not a big surprise. Earlier, the iMac Pro disappeared from the range. The space gray accessories were meant for that blazing fast desktop computer. At first you could only get them when you bought such an expensive iMac, but later they were also available separately. Remarkably, you pay 20 to 30 euros more for the dark versions than for the silver versions. Maybe that’s why they didn’t sell very well.
With the new Macs, Apple is opting for color
Apple seems to be slowly moving away from dark colors for the Mac line. The company recently introduced the iMac 2021. It is available in all kinds of bright shades, but not in black. In addition, the bezels around the screen are now white. Renders of the MacBook Air 2021 show that Apple’s most affordable laptop is likely to get the same treatment. Of course, space gray Mac accessories don’t go that well with that.
We expect a larger version of the iMac and new MacBook Pros later. It is unclear in which colors these computers will be available. It may be more business-like models. However, with the disappearance of dark Mac accessories, a space gray color seems out of the question.
