Apple launches its annual sports challenge with the Apple Watch for employees
Like every year, Apple is launching its “Close the Rings” challenge with employees who have an Apple Watch. The idea is to motivate the troops to do activity.
The challenge, which kicked off July 1, sees Apple employees compete in teams of four to close their activity rings for the entire month. “During these four weeks, you can brag about earning points and prizes by moving, exercising and standing to improve yourself”Apple told staff promoting the challenge.
MacRumors indicates that employees who score at least 1,240 points in the challenge will receive a special black zippered jacket with the fitness ring seen in the image below.
Apple holds such challenges every year, which are only open to people who currently work for the company. The goal is to get people moving more, which can be a problem when sitting all day in an office or at home, as Apple’s hybrid work model might allow.
