Apple investigates microphone issue with Apple Watch Series 8/Ultra
Apple recognizes that Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra have a problem with the microphone. The group has opened an investigation following reports from several users in recent days.
An error message is displayed on the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra of several users. We can read : “Measure suspended. The Noise app cannot check sound levels when the Apple Watch is in Water Mode or when the microphone or speaker is in use”.
In a new memo obtained by MacRumors, Apple says it is aware of the bug affecting users, noting that customers may experience issues with Siri not hearing them, recording voice memos and making calls. The message “Measurement suspended” may also appear in the Noise application.
What to do today? Apple says restarting the Apple Watch can temporarily fix the bug with the mic. The group also urges users to make sure they have the latest version of watchOS. This confirms in passing that it is indeed a bug at the software level and not at the hardware level, which is “good” news. A fix may appear with a future update.
