Apple AR / VR headset: Kuo talks about a late 2023 / early 2024 release
It’s a little more specific regarding the release date of Apple’s mixed reality headset, just hours before its presentation. It would be a question of an arrival at the end of the year or at the beginning of 2024.
Recently, an analyst at investment bank Morgan Stanley announced that mass production of the helmet would begin in October and that the commercialization would take place at the end of the year, in time for the holiday season with Christmas right in the middle. .
Today, Ming-Chi Kuo joins him globally. The analyst evoked a release in the fourth quarter of 2023 or early 2024. He adds that the most important thing will not be the number of copies sold, but the impact the helmet will have (or not). He declares :
Deliveries in 2023 are likely to be below market consensus. However, investors are not focused on shipments, but on whether the new product announcement will convince people that Apple’s AR/VR headset is the next star in consumer electronics.
According to previous indiscretions, Apple plans to produce between 300,000 and 500,000 copies of its headphones in 2023. It must be said that the price will be high according to leaks. Most report prices around $3,000. But earlier today, a (suspicious) leak hinted at a price of $1,999.
Apple will announce its headphones today during the WWDC 2023 keynote which will begin at 7 p.m. (French time). It will be possible to follow it live on iPhoneAddict via our dedicated page or from our iAddict app on iOS through the Keynote tab.
