Another Slovak bank launched Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay payments
We regularly monitor developments in the banking sector and annually bring a Smart Bank survey, in which readers can vote for the best Slovak banks in terms of smart functionalities. One such feature is the ability to pay by mobile phone or watch.
Mobile or watch payments are already standard in Slovakia
In Slovakia, we can pay by mobile phone from February 28, 2018, when the Google Pay service was launched. This smart watch service came to us only in August last year, together with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay services have been available in our country since April 2019, but support from banks is weaker compared to Google Pay and Apple Pay. Prima banka has joined the supported banks, the portal živé.aktuality.sk informed.
The bank launched these payment methods in silence, did not inform the media about it, and we did not find any mention of the launch on its Facebook profile. According to the bank, they were launched about a month ago, informs live.
There is no mention of Fitbit Pay on the Prima banka website, there is only basic information and the procedure for activating the Garmin Pay service. You can also find clear instructions on our website.
Which banks support Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay?
We have compiled a list of supported banks of all payment services in a separate article. Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay are offered by Prima banka, which has joined the other six:
- 365.bank
- mBank
- The Post Bank
- Slovenská sporiteľňa
- banka wire
- ČSOB
Which bank is the most “SMART”?
If you are thinking about changing your bank for any reason and your priority is smart functions (mobile payment, quality application with many functions, etc.), then you should not overlook the independent evaluation of Slovak banks in terms of smart functions, the so-called SmartBanka INDEX.
SmartBanka INDEX (SBI) is a system for evaluating mobile banking applications based on information obtained from their real users in the SmartBanka survey. It is a living system in which all positive and negative experiences and opinions of users on individual functionalities of banking applications, their overall usability and benefits for the bank’s client are taken into account. More information on the evaluation of Slovak banks and the current ranking can be found at smartbanka.sk.
