Android update: say goodbye to your battery!
Last month, the Android update for Google’s Pixel 6 and 7 had visibly impacted the battery of these models. Thus, users ended up with an overheating of the device as well as a drastic drop in autonomy. The cause of this problem is quickly identified, it is a poor optimization of the Google application infrastructure.

Corrected in May, the problem returns in June
Logically, a few days later, a patch is deployed by Google on all affected smartphones. Back to normal then? Not really. Users were only able to touch this sweet dream for a few days, as in early June the new Android update takes Pixel 6 and 7 owners back to square one.
Google losing its autonomy
You could say that this is just a sad coincidence for Google. Unfortunately, Pixels are frequently the victims of hazardous updates from its manufacturer, causing serial bugs and problems. THE reddit thread on the bugs caused by the Pixel update in June is one example among many of the technical wanderings of Google on its range of smartphones.

But then, why this difficulty for the Californian company to maintain a stable environment for its own devices? One of the main reasons comes from the software policy for Pixels. For Google, these models are intended to receive the latest updates from Android and the Google ecosystem as a priority. A poisoned gift, because it often means installing little-tested, still-improvable versions.
In any case, this situation has allowed Pixel users to have their monthly appointment on Reddit. FEBRUARY, March, april, may and now Juneeach month is entitled to its own mega thread dedicated to battery issues on the platform.
