Android Auto gets road-friendly games, privacy mode, and wider screen
Google has announced new features for Android Auto. This includes a new privacy mode and road-friendly games, yes, for on the go. The layout is also better utilized for wide screens.
Android Auto with games
Are you regularly stuck in traffic and are you bored there? Good news if your car supports Android Auto. From now on we will start rolling out new functionality. Soon you will find games on the screen of your Android Auto that you can play via Google Assistant. You simply give the command ‘play a game’. Games that are already available via Google Assistant can also be played in the car. Think of Trivia and Jeopardy. No games that require you to actively look at the screen or touch anything are allowed. If your car has an extra wide screen, Android Auto can split the screen. For example, you can simultaneously operate the music player and navigation.
Another improvement that is being rolled out by Google has to do with privacy, an important item, as we also wrote in the best privacy apps for Android. According to Google, this can prevent Android Auto from being visible if you have family or friends who are driving. It is not entirely clear what the possibilities are with this function.
The new improvements will be rolled out to Android Auto in the coming weeks. So it may take a while until these are available to everyone. They work with devices from Android 6.0 and above.
