Android 12 is getting a feature that Samsung phones have had for years; app-pairs’
New information shows that Google is working on several new features for Android 12. A function that we have known from Samsung for some time, called app pairs, makes multitasking more pleasant, and is expected to be found in Android 12 as well.
App pairs in Android 12
This year we will be introduced to Android 12, while Android 11 still has to be rolled out by many manufacturers. Before that, we have to make do with rumors about the new version of Android. If the messages are correct, then when using multitasking we can expect the function ‘app pairs’.
What exactly can you do with app pairs? It’s actually quite simple. With this feature you can multitask in an even faster way. You can ‘link’ apps that you often want to be open at the same time using this function. With the push of a button you can choose this option in the multitasking screen, after which the two selected apps are immediately opened in the screen. So you don’t have to manually select the two apps every time. Using a bar at the bottom it should be possible to quickly switch between the two apps.
Remarkably, Samsung, among others, has been offering this option on its Galaxy devices for years. So now Google also seems impressed by the new functionality. According to the generally well-informed source, we will see app pair back in Android 12. The photo in the article is a mock-up and shows what the function might look like, according to 9to5Google.
