An iMac Pro in 2022 with M1 Pro / Max and a 27-inch Mini-LED screen?
A new iMac Pro would be in preparation and would see the light of day in the course of 2022 according to Dylandkt. The leaker share several details about this all-in-one computer. It would have some similarities with the MacBook Pros that have just been released.
Some details on the iMac Pro of 2022
The iMac Pro of 2022 would be entitled to a Mini-LED screen with a diagonal of 27 inches. This ties in with recent information from analyst Ross Young, who is often well informed. This choice is in any case interesting when we know that the iMac M1 succeeds the 21.5-inch iMac (which Apple no longer sells this week) and has a 24-inch panel. Here, Apple would not change the general format and stay on the 27-inch size. We would also find support for ProMotion (adaptive display that can go from 24 Hz to 120 Hz, automatically).
On the performance side, Apple would choose the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, the same ones found in the new MacBook Pro. There would also be 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for the base model. Apple would also take care of putting an HDMI port, an SD card reader and USB-C ports.
As for the overall design, the machine would look like the Pro Display XDR and the iMac M1, except that the borders would be black, not white. Apple would also test Face ID (notch to come?), But its presence in the final model is currently uncertain.
This iMac Pro from 2022 would also have the right to a power adapter including an Ethernet port, by default. This is not present on the base iMac M1. Finally, the price: the starting price would be equal to or greater than $ 2,000. In comparison, the current 27-inch iMac with an Intel processor starts at $ 1,799 ($ 1,999 in France). The new model with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips would arrive in the first half of 2022.
