AirTags sound louder to spot an unknown tag
Apple this week offered an update for AirTags and the novelty is now known. Apple announces that there is talk of a louder sound for its object tracker.
Louder sound for AirTags
“Adjusting the unwanted tracking sound to more easily locate an unknown AirTag”says Apple on a new page. The manufacturer specifies that you must have an iPhone under iOS 14.5 at least to take advantage of it.
Apple has made several changes to how AirTags work since their launch to address concerns about the tracker being used for harassment. In February, the company announced a series of changes it planned to make to address harassment concerns. Some of these changes were introduced in March in iOS 15.4 and others were made later.
Here is one of the changes announced by Apple:
AirTag Tone Modulation: Currently, iOS users receiving a tracking alert can make the unknown AirTag play a sound to locate it. We are going to modulate the tone to increase the volume and make it easier to find.
The deployment of the firmware update for the AirTag is in progress. 1% of users had the new version at the beginning of the week. This will increase to 10% on May 3, 25% on May 9, and 100% on May 13. The update will download and install automatically.
