AirTag in suitcase is now banned – and here’s why it’s nonsense
Due to all the chaos with the suitcases at Schiphol, and many other airports in Europe, travelers wanted to be able to keep an eye on their suitcases to find them again if something went wrong. The AirTag offered a solution: put an AirTag in your suitcase, and you will find it on the map in no time.
Unfortunately, this solution now seems to be banned. Lufthansa takes the lead, and apparently is the first airline to ban putting an AirTag in your checked baggage. The reason? According to Lufthansa, they do not meet the guidelines of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Don’t just get on a roller coaster with the iPhone 14
You better not get on a roller coaster with the iPhone 14 anymore. Due to the speed and abrupt movements, the Crash Detection function may be activated just like that. Fortunately, you can do something about it.
In several American fun areas, Crash Detection of the iPhone 14 is activated during roller coaster rides. Some amusement parks therefore ask you not to take smartphones with you during roller coaster rides or to put your smartphone on airplane mode.

New updates for iPhone and Apple Watch
Apple released several updates last week. iPhones can now download iOS 16.0.3. This update fixes issues, including in CarPlay. Furthermore, thanks to the fifth beta of iOS 16.1, we already know which features will be added soon.
Apple Watch users can update to watchOS 9.0.2. This patch also fixes several issues, including a faltering Spotify.

More and more Dutch young people have an iPhone
From a survey by the Consumer Insights Panel of Telecom paper it turns out that about 60 percent of Dutch young people between the ages of 16 and 24 have an iPhone.
Four years ago it was only 51 percent. Telecompaper believes that this is partly because Apple has benefited from the disappearance of Huawei.

There are strong rumors that Apple will announce several new products this month. This will most likely not happen at an event, but via a press release.

iPhone 15 release date already known
Usually new iPhones come out around September, but the exact date is not always known. Now we know more, as Apple Store employees in the UK were told not to take any time off between September 15 and October 7, 2023.
When the release date of the new iPhone is on September 15, the announcement will be a week earlier. Usually that is on Tuesday, so that will be September 5, 2023. The pre-order will then start on September 8.
