With the new Chromebook Vero 514, Acer aims to attract customers who care about product durability. For example, the packaging of the Chromebook Vero 514 is made of 90 percent recycled paper. You can also fold them out afterwards into a simple laptop stand.

The housing of the device is made of 30 percent recycled plastic and the keyboard consists of 50 percent recycled material. Still, Acer states that the Chromebook is also made with sturdiness in mind. It therefore meets the MIL-STD 810H standard, and can survive a fall of up to 122 centimeters in height.

But of course the specifications also continue to play a role. The Chromebook Vero 514 has a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen with a brightness of 300 nits. The panel is non-reflective and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The device also has an HD webcam that is hidden in the fine screen edges.
