Absolute must-see for all horror fans
A horrible dream that brought a cult film back to life! Director Samuel Bayer caused sleepless nights with this horror remake.
Who on the filmography of Wes Craven looks, the question inevitably arises as to how this man was able to go through life with a positive disposition. Blood, horror and goosebumps run through his cinematic legacy, which the American, who died in 2015, left behind. Whether “The thing from the swamp”, “shockers”, “Cursed” or “The House of the Forgotten”: Craven created legendary genre classics that every fan should see once in their lifetime. Of course, this also includes Freddy Krueger’s odyssey through the dreams of young people who have to get to safety from the scarred monster. With “A Nightmare On Elm Street” a reinterpretation of 2010 is now coming to television. At Netflix do you have the chance to meet Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) without commercial breaks. Otherwise you can also join Amazon Prime Video shudder in the buy or rent stream. But beware: the dream-murdering serial killer leaves heavy traces.
The 1984 premiere was followed by several sequels, which ended in 2010 in a remake of the original. In our video, we’ll tell you whether part of the series made it into the list of the eleven scariest horror films.
What is A Nightmare On Elm Street about?
Much to the shock of his friends, young Dean supposedly kills himself in his sleep right in front of them. Shortly after the bizarre incident, his friends meet in their dreams a mysterious man with burns and razor hands. While trying not to fall victim to the Nightmare Killer, they gradually uncover his dark past. Can the friends unravel the mystery of Freddy Krueger and defeat him?
A Nightmare On Elm Street: More nightmares planned?
With numerous – more and less good – sequels, Freddy Krüger cemented his status in the pop culture of the 80s. Next to Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers, Krüger is one of the scariest movie monsters in the horror genre. The fascination for the legendary figure is currently occupying the “Haunted Hill House”-Inventor Mike Flanagan. He wants to forget the 2010 remake and bring Freddy Krueger back to life in a new film. A corresponding idea is available, such as ScreenRant reports, but the struggle for rights makes it difficult to achieve. With his ten-part Netflix series, Mike Flanagan proved without question that he has a talent for effective horror. However, it is currently uncertain when he will be able to put his vision of Freddy Krüger’s return into practice.
