Tracking
This English term, equivalent to tracking or follow-up in French, designates the fact of monitoring the progress of a delivery by listing the transit data in a specific interface, each time the status of a package changes. This practice is already offered by a large number of courier and transport professionals, such as Colissimo, Chronopost and DHL in France.
The particularity of tracking platforms like Ordertracker lies in their collaboration with hundreds of carriers, postal services, delivery companies and e-commerce sellers around the world. Thus, a package that travels across borders and passes through the hands of different providers can be tracked on a single application.
International visibility
With Ordertracker, more than 200 countries are covered by this multi-courier tracking. Many carriers are listed in the database, such as Colissimo, Chronopost, Yun Express, Geodis, Royal Mail, Amazon Logistics TBA, China Post, TNT, Mondial Relay, or even UPS and DHL.
A number of e-commerce giants also find their packages on this platform: Shein, Wish, Cdiscount, eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Aliexpress, Alibaba, Fnac, Rakuten…
The full list of Ordertracker partnerships is available on the website.
As part of its global approach, the interface is translated into many languages including French.
Only one identification number is enough
Users simply need to provide the shipment number obtained and communicated by the sender. It is an alphanumeric code, usually comprising 8 to 13 symbols, initially provided by the postal service that took charge of the package. This can change, depending on the different providers responsible for the package during its transit. The automatic parcel detection technology makes it possible to continue tracking even in the event of a change of reference.
The user can track up to 10 packages at a time, by entering the ID numbers in the search bar. Easy to use, intuitive, flexible and free, this interface is the ideal tool for cross-border shipments. It avoids multiplying the steps by constituting a single point of reference, and also makes it possible to obtain information throughout the delivery chain, without language barrier.
Benefits for sender and receiver
Every year, millions of parcels do not arrive at their destination, due to loss, theft, damage and poor handling. Thanks to this tracking system, senders and recipients keep an eye on the parcel sent, from deposit in the postal service to final reception. This practice has tended to evolve and become popular in recent years, in the face of the growth of e-commerce, one of the main sectors requiring the sending of parcels.
The recipient ensures the proper dispatch of the expected object, and obtains at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the information he is looking for, as to the steps taken by the package. He is informed as the delivery approaches of the date and time slot during which the delivery person will come to his home, at work, at a relay point, or at the post office. In case of absence, it will be indicated to him with exactness the place of withdrawal in which the parcel is available.
In the case of e-commerce, the possibility of tracking the parcel is a guarantee of the seller’s honesty, as well as a tool for maintaining trust between buyer and merchant. The latter gives the impression of controlling all of its activity, right up to delivery to its end customer.
In the event of a dispute, it is possible to find out when the delivery chain was interrupted. A consumer can thus request reimbursement from the seller, who will in turn turn against the carrier.
