YouTube Shorts are coming to the web/tablets and gaining novelties
YouTube announces something new for Shorts, namely short videos offered vertically. The objective of the day is to reach more users, both by offering greater availability and by adding new features.
Changes for YouTube Shorts
Now, YouTube Shorts are available from the web and from tablets. The videos were only accessible from smartphones. But it is however possible that you have already seen them on other media because YouTube was carrying out tests. Now it’s officially available on the various media.
Additionally, YouTube Shorts will allow creators to insert content from longer videos. One to five second segments of videos, on eligible videos, may be used in the short films in both video and audio form. When a clip is used, the original video is linked. Creators can choose to exclude their videos from this feature, and any video set as private or subject to a copyright claim will not be eligible. Google provides more details on a support page.
These new features for creators will be available in the coming weeks on iOS. Android users will have to wait a bit longer. YouTube doesn’t give a specific date, just saying “later in the year”.
