We know more and more about the new products that Apple will launch in the fall of 2022. In this article we have collected all the information for you and you will find out all the ‘leaked’ details!

Apple products fall 2022: will they come?

Apple releases new products every year. We were already treated to the iPhone SE 2022 and the iPad Air 2022 at the first Apple Event of this year in early March. Apple wouldn’t be Apple if it weren’t for more products in the fall of 2022.

In this overview we have put together all the products that we expect Apple to release in the fall of 2022. Of course we hope that all products will be launched at once in the autumn, but unfortunately this is not very likely.

So for convenience, we’ve broken them down into three levels: “highly probable,” “uncertain,” and “false hopes.” We’ll start with Apple’s products that we’re pretty sure will launch in the fall of 2022.

Very likely: launch iPhone 14 series and Apple Watch Series 8

The iPhone 14 series is almost certainly coming. Every year Apple launches a new iPhone and that is why it is now the turn of the successor to the iPhone 13. In addition, we most likely also expect a new Apple Watch Series 8.

iPhone 14 (Pro) (Max): minor updates

There are more and more rumors about the latest flagship from Apple. As in previous years, we will most likely see four new iPhone models in the fall. These are the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro (both 6.1 inches), iPhone 14 Max, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max (both 6.7 inches). There doesn’t seem to be a mini version of the iPhone 14 coming, as was the case with the iPhone 13 mini. Striking about the design is that the notch (the camera notch) either shrinks or will become a few holes.

In addition, there are rumors that Apple will finally replace the 12-megapixel camera on the Pro versions of the iPhone 14 with a new 48-megapixel camera. The reliable analyst Kuo also said that the ‘regular’ iPhone 14 will again receive an A15 chip, just like the iPhone 13.

The more expensive Pro models do get the new A16 Bionic chip and a ProMotion screen that refreshes 120 times per second. For the real news, you should in all probability purchase the Pro models with the iPhone 14. The launch of these products is certain for us, but the exact specifications Apple will come with is still the question.

Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch SE 2

We also expect to see two new models of the Apple Watch in the fall. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reported earlier this year that Apple is launching the new Apple Watch Series 8 in multiple versions. There will be an ‘Extreme Sports’ design with a new level of waterproofing and a ‘normal’ version. We also expect Apple to come up with a successor to the budget model, the Apple Watch SE.

Uncertain for 2022: AirPods Pro 2, Macs and iPad Pro 2022

Beware: We are going to speculate a bit now. Well, we do a few educated guesses. We don’t just shake these up, but have been reviewed in recent months. We naturally hope that these Apple products will also be on our doorstep in the autumn of 2022 for extensive testing. However, we cannot yet speak of ‘certainties’.

AirPods Pro 2: a world of difference

The aforementioned Apple analysts Kuo and Gurman believe that Apple will launch new earplugs. Apple gives these AirPods Pro 2 a new design without the famous ‘stalks’. It is rumored that Apple will also provide the new AirPods with built-in motion sensors, so that the ears can serve as a health meter and pedometer.

Another interesting (possible) addition is lossless audio (audio without loss of quality) and a longer battery life of both the earphones and the charging case. In any case, we are very excited!

MacBook Air 2022, Mac mini, Mac Pro

Mark Gurman (yes, there it is again!) reports that the new MacBook Air will get “a completely new design, MagSafe, the M2 chip and more.” However, we do not expect an (expensive) mini-LED screen. There are rumors that Apple will provide the smallest laptop model this year with a (slightly) larger 13.6-inch display.

The new Mac Pro 2022 is rumored to have a mini-LED screen with an M1 Ultra chip (perhaps even a double M1 Ultra chip). The last Mac Pro came out in 2019. If it’s up to us, it needs an update again!

We had already expected the new Mac mini at the Spring 2022 ‘Peek Performance’ event. Instead, Apple launched the Mac Studio and Studio Display. We hope to see the new Mac mini in the fall of this year. The new ‘entry-level’ Mac not only gets an M1 chip, but also has a new design. We also expect that the Mac mini also has more connection ports.

iPad Pro 2022

Last in the ‘uncertain’ series is the iPad Pro 2022. We expect a MagSafe charger, an M1 (Pro/Max) chip and a larger battery. However, it is unclear whether there will be a mini-LED display in the jumbo version of the iPad. It is also possible that the iPad Pro 2022 will receive a long-awaited M2 chip instead of the M1 that we still find in the current iPad Pro 2021.

False Hope for Fall 2022: Apple Reality

There have been rumors for years about the development of an AR/VR headset by Apple. Whether it will see the light of day and what it will be called remains to be seen. We think ‘Apple Reality’ is the most likely given Apple’s previous names and a source code called ‘realityOS’.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the VR/AR headset will get a lot of computing power. Think of a processor that is comparable to that of the M1 processor of the Mac. The bridge between VR and AR would therefore work seamlessly. The headset is also reportedly equipped with two 8K screens. Earlier, Apple analyst Gurman reported that the Apple Reality is designed for functions such as gaming, streaming videos and communication.
