IKEA’s new smart curtains don’t roll but fold
In Germany you can already get the latest smart curtains from IKEA. They are called PRAKTLYSING and TRENDS and they don’t roll but fold.
IKEA PRACTLYSING and TAIR DANCING
Launched in 2018, IKEA Kadrilj and Fyrtur were the Swedish furniture giant’s first smart curtains. Now the successors are popping up at our eastern neighbors, our sister site AWSmart discovered. They get equally hard-to-pronounce names that come in two flavors: PRAKTLYSING and TREDANSEN. This time it is not about standard roller blinds such as Kadrilj and Fyrtur, but pleated blinds.
PRAKTLYSING is available in white in the sizes 120×195 cm and 140×195 cm and costs 125 euros and 129 euros respectively. TREDANSEN is also available in white, and is also blackout. This variant is also available in sizes 120×195 cm and 140×195 cm. The smallest size costs 145 euros and the other 149 euros. This makes them exactly 20 euros more expensive than the translucent version.
Service
The smart roller blinds can again be operated in three ways. This can of course be done via the supplied remote control or the IKEA Homesmart app. For the last option you do need the TRÅDFRI Gateway. Finally, voice control via Google Assistant, Alexa or Siri is possible.
According to AWSmart, it is not known whether and when these smart pleated blinds will also come to the Netherlands and Belgium. As soon as more is known about that, you will of course read it on AWSmart and here on Androidworld.
Last year, IKEA hid a smart air purifier in a side table. In addition, the company launched a new generation of the SYMFONISK: a table lamp and WiFi speaker in one and a bookshelf speaker.
