Wouldn’t it be cool if you could easily find hidden cameras with your smartphone? This is exactly what Oppo makes possible with the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. For the time being, the Chinese company has activated a function for the two smartphones with which you can actually can detect hidden cameras. All you have to do is have one of the two smartphones, have the latest “ColorOS 12.1” version installed and download the “Hidden Camera Detection” app from the Oppo store (source: Weibo).
When you run the app, you will be presented with a Step-by-step guide guided through the process. First you have to switch off your own WiFi signal from your cell phone and all other devices. You also have to switch the light on and off to get the small WiFi cameras to activate their infrared light. Now you can use your smartphone to search for cameras. As soon as a camera has been spotted, your cell phone will guide you in the right direction.
In the end, however, you have to take a close look yourself to see where the camera could be installed. These Mini cameras can basically be installed in many objects and only use a mini lens. That’s why they are difficult to find and the smartphone should help.
