WhatsApp would ‘love’ to make an iPad app
It’s been rumored for a long time that WhatsApp is working on an iPad app, but we still haven’t seen it. Fortunately, the boss of the company says in an interview that we do not have to give up hope yet.

Is iPad app for WhatsApp finally coming?
Sit on the couch with your iPad and just type messages to your friends or loved one. It is a dream for many, but WhatsApp still does not have a full-fledged app for the iPad. That may finally change soon.
The head of the company, Will Cathcart, tells in an interview with The Verge that WhatsApp is ‘very eager’ to make an iPad app. Unfortunately, there is no concrete date for the release of such an app. Cathcart does realize that many people have been waiting for it for a long time.
The underlying technology seems all set for an iPad app. Since last year you can use WhatsApp on multiple devices at the same time. That was not possible for a long time, making it very difficult to design an app specifically for Apple’s tablet.
Nowadays, your smartphone no longer even needs to be turned on to use WhatsApp on your Mac, for example. So it should be relatively easy for the chat service to design an iPad app. Given Cathcart’s enthusiasm, we’re hopeful that such an app will finally appear in 2022.
