VanMoof V: Germans love this e-bike
An e-bike straight out of a science fiction author’s fever dream: the VanMoof V is a real eye-catcher. It’s just stupid that with its maximum speed of 60 km/h it’s on the border of illegal on German roads. But that doesn’t detract from the country’s success.
E-bikes are all the rage and are increasingly becoming an alternative to cars, especially in big cities. But in order to convince even the last critics to switch, one thing is needed above all: higher speeds. Currently, e-bikes – or more precisely: pedelecs – offer electrical support up to 25 km/h per hour. So-called S-Pedelecs are faster at a maximum of 45 km/h. Compared to the VanMoof V with its top speed of 60 km/h, the S-Pedelecs are also lame ducks.
10,000 reservations for the VanMoof V – Germany leader
After VanMoof presented the V to the world for the first time at the end of October, it was the turn of its own community and they were allowed to reserve the stylish e-bike. More than 10,000 reservations have come together so far, VanMoof said in a press release. At a price of around 3,500 euros, this is an impressive sum.
The country distribution is interesting: Of the 10,000 reservations should Germany alone accounts for a third. According to VanMoof, the Federal Republic of Germany is by far the largest market for the VanMoof V. The Germans can’t get enough of the lightning-fast e-bike, although so far only the announcement and a few press photos of the bike have been seen – and that’s according to current regulations would be illegal in this country without further speed adjustments.
The VanMoof S3 is approved for German roads:
VanMoof V: New pictures and videos of the e-bike on February 8th
In the near future, however, VanMoof wants to look at the cards a little more. For the February 8th new pictures and a video of the VanMoof V are announced. Then the general public should also have the opportunity to reserve the new S-Pedelec. The first VanMoof V models are scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2022.
