Baby name inspiration: these are the trends of 2022
We recently shared the most popular baby names of the past year. A list that hardly changes, but has now undergone a little overhaul. For example, Julia was number one in 2021. Among the boys, Noah was the most popular name.

Newcomers to the top ten most popular baby names were Milou, Olivia and Luca. Earlier we looked ahead: the most popular girls name in 2022 will be Mila, with the boys that is Sem. Curious which trends we will see in the coming year? We looked it up for you.

Cheerful and light
The arrival of a baby is of course a happy event. That also includes a cozy name, right? In the coming year we will hear more and more baby names with a light, fresh, young tone. Think Teddy, Coco or Lulu. Douwe Bob also chose a cheerful name: Bobby.
Nice and short
Short, shorter, shortest: that’s what we’re going for this year. That’s not really new, by the way, because baby names with one or two syllables have been popular for some time. Neutral
Whether you have a son or a daughter, some names are fun for all genders. How about Bowie, Charlie, Jip or Bobby? And there are many more fun unisex baby names.
Musical
Are you hoping for a child with a lot of musical talent or are you a big music fan yourself? Then a musical name is of course very appropriate. Just like Roxeanne Hazes, choose the name Fender, after the well-known guitar brand. Or give your child – just like Birgit Schuurman – the name Jimi, a reference to guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Other examples are Harper, Jazz, Selah or Aria.
