WhatsApp support now app you via WhatsApp

If you ask the WhatsApp support service a question, they can now contact you via a chat conversation in the messaging app. That feature is already live for beta users. We explain how to distinguish WhatsApp support from potential impostors posing as WhatsApp.

For example, if you have questions about the data that WhatsApp backs up or if you encounter errors in WhatsApp, please contact support staff. You can easily do that in the messaging app via Settings > Help > Ccontact me. You can formulate your question there and ask WhatsApp customer service to contact you.

From now on, that contact no longer has to be done by email, because support staff can now also send you an app. This already works on WhatsApp Beta, and your question will then be dealt with in a direct conversation with ‘WhatsApp customer service’. A green check mark will appear next to that exact name. Only in this way can you be sure that you are really dealing with the account of the official support staff.

At this time, WhatsApp customer service can only contact you via WhatsApp conversation if you are using WhatsApp beta on Android or iOS. We expect WhatsApp to roll out the feature more widely to users of the stable version in the future, but it is not yet known when that will happen.
