Parents about quarantine rules in primary schools: ‘This is untenable’
“Yeah, it’s time,” writes a father on Twitter. “The third infection in my son’s class has been identified. The class will therefore have to be quarantined in the coming days. Please adjust that policy of classes home after 3 infections. This is untenable.” Yoeri Albrecht, director of the De Balie debate center in Amsterdam, understands the anger of parents. “The quarantine regulations make it de facto impossible for families with small children to lead a normal working life,” he reports on social media.

Chairman of the board Harrie van de Ven of Optimus, the largest school umbrella organization in the Northeast Brabant region, tells RTL Nieuws that 5 of the 130 classes have been sent home this week. “At the moment it can still be done. But I think it is quite something that 20 or more students are the victims of three infections.” He fears that many more classes will be sent home in the near future. “If safety and health are not really a danger, then it makes sense to relax the measure of three students.”
