Madfinger Games announces PC game on Unreal Engine 5 -apkrig
Developers from the Czech studio Madfinger Games are announcing another big novelty less than a year after the investment by the Chinese owner of TikTok. After the era of famous mobile titles such as Dead Trigger 2, Unkilled or Shadowgun Legends, the Brno team is moving to full-fledged development of PC games. At the same time, the CEO of the studio, Marek Rabas, announces the development of the first big title, which will be an as yet unnamed ultrarealistic hardcore shooter set in the online world. The attraction, especially of its technical processing, will be the use of Unreal Engine 5, including systems such as Lumen or Nanite.
“Although it is difficult for us to leave Unity after ten years, Unreal Engine 5 will allow us to achieve a quality that can compete with the best AAA games on the market,” says Marek Rabas in a press release. Even in an interview that will be part of our vidcast with serial number 197, he added that he was always attracted to the big online worlds and longed for the development of a game with a focus on realism and hardcore experiences. “It simply came to our notice then. It will be ultra-realistic FPS hardcore, and we like that here, “adds Rabas.
Although it might seem that Madfinger Games only links the past to mobile titles, individual team members have naturally worked on projects from other parts of the video game industry. There are people in the Brno offices who have signed under titles such as Sorcerer 3: Wild Hunt, Quantum Break, Mafia, Hidden & Dangerous or Vietcong, and the last two mentioned titles are supposed to confirm that the studio has sufficiently talented and mainly experienced developers. from the rank of shooters.
According to Rabas, another of the reasons why the focus of the study is changing is the number of titles that are created on mobile phones. “During our research, we found out that this studio is making a mobile game, this brand is moving to mobile and that everything is going to the mobile sphere. We said to ourselves that there is no point in competing with them, “Rabas explained for Vortex. So far, according to him, it has worked, because even a game from the Czech Republic from a small team could match the world’s top, but at a time when brands such as Call of Duty or potentially Destiny, for example, are appearing on mobile devices, Rabas is no longer able to compete. “They have everything better because it’s the brand. User retention then works completely differently, ”adds the studio’s CEO. He is not afraid to enter the field of PC games because, according to him, large companies have a huge inertia and it will take them longer to understand what they did not do, which creates space for games such as the one from Madfinger Games.
During our research, we found out that this studio is making a mobile game, this brand is moving to mobile phones, and that everything is going to the mobile sphere. We said to ourselves that there is no point in competing with them, “explained Marek Rabas.
If you want to learn more about what is going on in the studio, or to hear exactly what led the management, including Marek Rabas, to such an important change, accept once again an invitation from us to watch our vidcast, which will be published later today. And if you’d like to find out more about the game from a slightly different perspective, we also remind you that Madfinger is opening up new jobs, which Mark Rabas and I also talked about in the interview.
