Netflix raises subscription prices. Does this also apply to Slovakia?
Netflix, the most widely used service for streaming movies and series, is raising subscription prices in the US market. However, if you are worried that Slovak users will pay more, you can be without worries for the time being. The information was provided by the portal MacRumours.
The price of Netflix is already twice as expensive as Apple TV +
Basic subscriptions should increase in the US by one dollar, Standard by one and a half dollars, and Premium subscriptions by up to two dollars. This means that US customers now pay a basic subscription of $ 9.99 per month, $ 15.49 for a standard subscription and $ 19.99 for a Premium subscription. Old customers will receive a change notification 30 days before the price increase so they can edit or cancel their subscription.
Netflix has already raised its subscription prices once. That was in October 2020, when, for example, the Premium subscription still cost $ 4 less than after the latest increase. The price increase may be related to larger investments in Netflix’s own production. Due to new competition in this market (such as Disney + or Apple TV +), the service has produced hundreds of millions of dollars in new movies and series.
In Slovakia, prices have not changed yet
In Slovakia, the original subscription prices will apply. This means € 7.99 for a basic subscription, € 9.99 for a standard subscription and € 11.99 for a premium subscription. The basic subscription is for one user only and offers videos in 480p resolution only. The standard subscription in 1080p resolution is intended for two users and the premium subscription in 4K resolution for up to four.
